THEATRICAL RELEASE IN 40 CINEMAS
KLANTREIS follows newcomers as they navigate the Dutch system of offices and rules: from housing and finances to language and cultural lessons and buddy programs. It offers a sharp and sometimes humorous reflection of the Netherlands, where familiar rules and bureaucracy collide with daily reality and the determination of those affected.
Award-winning filmmaker Ton van Zantvoort gained unique access to municipalities, language institutions, and families at home, creating a revealing and human portrait. The film also highlights themes such as housing, participation, financial support, and social engagement.
AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE AT SCREENINGS
Several screenings will feature an interactive Audience Experience. There will be post-screening discussions with the director and local institutions, and the audience can participate in a short ‘customer journey’. Visitors can take a test afterward and receive their personal ‘integration diploma’. The screening thus becomes a full experience.
WORLD PREMIERE AT MOVIES THAT MATTER
Reserve your tickets for the world premiere of KLANTREIS on March 21 at Theater aan het Spui in The Hague.
The screening will be opened by Arjan van Noort, Director of Society and Integration at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), and Member of Parliament Mpanzu Bamenga (D66).
During the Movies that Matter Festival, there will be several screenings:
21 March – 18:15 – Theater aan het Spui, The Hague (premiere)
22 March – 11:00 – De Regentes, The Hague (with in-depth discussion)
24 March – 20:15 – Filmhuis Den Haag
28 March – 13:45 – Filmhuis Den Haag (Q&A)
PRIVATE SCREENINGS
During a private preview with representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), VNG, DUO, Divosa, G40, G5, various municipalities, VluchtelingenWerk, and Refugee Team, the feedback was unanimously positive.
