World premiere SHEEP HERO on IDFA
We are very delighted that our film SHEEP HERO is selected out of 4000 films for IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam). IDFA is the biggest, most important festival in the world in this genre.” The film is in competition with only ten other Dutch documentaries of filmmaker such as Heddy Honigman, Marjoleine Boonstra, Peter and Petra Lataster, Carin Goeijers. The jury members in this category are Catherine Bazern, Alisa Lebow and Eduardo Escorel an editor from brazil.
In the press conference today at 17.00 IDFA director Orwa Nyrabia devoted himself to our film:” This is a very interesting and very different kind of film, because it examines the experience of this guy, who tries to be an old school sheep herder. What’s interesting in this film is that it not only takes us into the experience of trying to be a sheep herder in our modern life, but also all of the political context of this and of the government trying to make sense where can you herd your sheep. Because this ends up with a big question, can such tradition survive in our world today?’
SHEEP HERO is a 81-minutes cinematic documentary about a traditional shepherd that is forced to innovate in a neo-liberal world that conflicts with his idealistic views. Please follow us on our Facebook page . We look forward to all our screenings with Q&A.
